Minutes of the General Membership Meeting – February 9, 2006

ATTENDANCE 67 MEMBERS AND 3 GUESTS & 1 VISITOR
President Jeann’e Butler called the meeting to order which was turned over to Jan Hoffman, Programs Person, who introduced Jan and Lou from the Philomath Quilt Shop. They presented a trunk show, which was enjoyed; Questions followed.
The social break was next with delicious treats and visiting among members.
When the meeting was called back to order, the Hostess Chairperson thanked all members for their contributions during the last two meetings.
Show and Tell followed with 12 participants.
Block of the month was won by Sue Finlayson; Quilters Surprise was won by Judi Cooper. Pam Werth conducted special raffle with three members making the lucky draws.
The Business Meeting was next, which began with the motion made and approved of the minutes of the December meeting.
Debra Hanson, treasurer entered a written report with the present bank balance as $7,490.19.
Jen Reinhart advised the members of the upcoming observance of National Quilters Day scheduled for March 25, 2006 at the ALC between 9 and 4; volunteers needed with a sign up sheet at her station.
The membership committee reported 67 members present with three guests and one visitor.
Nan Scott discussed the new directory; talked about changes and requested all members to pick theirs up at the meeting.
The president discussed the new hand out brochure produced specifically for new members and visitors.
Committee reports followed with 18 being the # requested for charm squares for next month; raffle ticket sales production for the quilt show in the process of printing; the raffle quilt on schedule with additional assistance requested at BayShore on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Cheryl Mottner reported 24 houses submitted presently; Row Robin exchanged at this meeting with the next exchange scheduled for April. A reminder was mentioned for Healthy Quilters at PUD on the third Saturday of each month.
The Quilt Show Committee reported progress with a few vacancies remaining. Mention was made of the Harp Player scheduled to entertain at the August show as well as the mandatory photo of each entry. The first committee meeting of the Quilt Show is scheduled for February 23, 2006, 2 p.m. at the Carriage House, which is open to all members with attendance encouraged.
An ongoing request for 5” squares for the quilt show was mentioned, as was the request for materials for the grab bags, which will be collected by Jen until May 2006 when Susan Dandoy will take over.
The plea went out again for a Registrar for the quilt show.
Door prize drawings followed, which had been donated by the guest speakers shop.
Workshop report by Jen Reinhart, mentioning April 15, taught by Jean Amundson, entitled Stripped down Curves and June as Crazy Quilting, taught by Jean Bishop & Cheryl Mottner scheduled for 2 days.
The Community Quilt committee reported Deborah Hanson has resigned and Judi Cooper has accepted the position. She mentioned quilt kits ready for pick-up. Jean Bishop read a letter from the Health Department expressing thanks to the guild.
The challenge committee indicated they encourage a lot of flexibility and requested more participants.
A thank you note from Lincoln County Historical Society was read thanking the guild for their contribution. A letter from Fons and Porter was mentioned indicating the members were eligible for a reduction of fees for subscription.
Marilyn Christenson read an enlightening poem and the meeting was adjourned.
