Minutes of the General Membership Meeting – April 13, 2006

ATTENDANCE 68 MEMBERS AND 1 GUEST

President Jeanne Butler called the meeting to order and invited the members to enjoy the plentiful luncheon.  The meeting resumed and Rosalie began by discussing programs and reminding the members about the silent auction in May.  She passed out paperwork and encouraged all members to participate.

Ginnie Kelly presented a trunk show and discussed some of her experience, which led up to her quilting. 

Berta Beachell thanked the April hostesses and encouraged all members to participate; the sign-up sheet for future meetings was circulated. 

Show and Tell followed with 16 participants.

A brief social break was next with the drawings opening the beginning of the second part of the meeting.  Marilyn Pratt was the lucky winner of the Block of Month, which were the purple iris.  Rose Shaw showed an example of next month’s block and mentioned that 42 have signed up. 

Quilter’s Surprise and Pam’s Special Raffle followed.

The minutes of the March meeting were accepted and approved.

The President read the Treasurer’s Report.  The records reflect December 1, 2005 through April 6, 2006.  Bank Balance of $8,286.12 was reported.

Phoebe Hein gave the membership report indicating a total of 117 members, which includes 3 new members.

Committee reports followed with Liz Ritchie starting with charm squares.  May’s fabric will be the 1930’s prints.  She requested members to continue turning in their 5”squares for quilt show. 

Twy Hoch stated the next documentation would be in Lincoln City April 22, 2006 and requested additional members assist her.

Nan Scott reported raffle ticket sales are doing well and offered some incentives for numerous sales and announced an upcoming ‘T-party’ for those who have sold at least 15 tickets. 

Paulette discussed the Row Robin, which reportedly is on track. 

Judi Cooper praised members for their generosity as more than 20 quilts have been turned in this month.      

The Quilt Show Committee reported they are proceeding on schedule and mentioned entry forms and sleeve instructions are available at the entrance table.  Isabel Blower requests members to contact her if they have a quilt suitable for the bed turning. 

Cheryl Mottner report she has received more than 50 house blocks and still needs more.  A brief discussion followed regarding the background.   

 Jean Amundson stated there are openings for the Stripped Down Curves for the April Workshop.  It is scheduled for 4/15/06 and the cost is $22.  Crazy Quilting is the topic for May and Stained Glass scheduled for 6/9/06. 

Jen invited any members who were interested in teaching a workshop to contact her immediately as plans are being made for 2007. 

Rosalie mentioned a volunteer is needed for Programs for next year. 

Jen announced Healthy Quilter’s time has changed to begin at 10:00 a.m. and inquired if any interested people were available for April 22 to please contact her. 

A 15% discount card was presented to the President for the guild’s use from Jo-Ann’s Fabric  of Lincoln City. 

The meeting was adjourned.
