April's Block of the Month is called Folded Attic Windows by Cheryl Phillips
Your packet with instructions came with two fabric triangles - a medium green and a darker green. In the illustrated instructions, the darker green is labeled B and the medium green is A.
Cut out the paper template of the 8" triangle in your packet. Within that template, cut out the square window in the corner of the triangle. On a floral fabric of your choosing, position the square window to frame a flower and cut the entire triangle piece.
Fold the floral triangle in half with wrong sides together.
Layer the pieces as shown in the diagram: Triangle B, folded floral triangle with the fold to the center, raw edges even, and points together, finally Triangle A with right side matching the right side of B.
One seam along the diagonal edge of triangles A and B with the folded floral triangle sandwiched between is all you need to complete the construction. Press seam open on the wrong side. Turn over and flatten floral piece to form a square. Zigzag or baste the raw edges of the floral piece to secure.
I did not trim the green triangles to 7" before sewing so that the winner of the blocks would have more flexibility in standardizing the finished block size.
