Since all of the pieces are symmetrical, I like to use freezer paper templates. I iron the paper shiny side to the wrong side of the fabric. Cut it out with a quarter inch allowance.
Then I peel the freezer paper off and reposition it with shiny side UP on the wrong side of the fabric.
Clip curves for easier turning and then turn the allowance using the tip of the iron to press in to place. The freezer paper will hold your allowance and pressing will give a nice crisp edge for blind stitching. |
